Course Description:
This course covers the fundamentals of User Experience Design and how UX thinking can be applied to solve complex problems. Students will learn techniques for researching a problem and how to develop and deliver applicable solutions. The course will introduce the core tenants of interaction design and cover best practices for professional designers. Students will be expected to design a website or application at the conclusion of the course.
Learning Objectives:
Understand how to break down a problem, outline project plans, and develop a product architecture
Acquire skills for sketching, wireframing, and making prototypes
Learn how to conduct user testing, understand results, and apply learnings to their design work
Refine a project using interface design techniques
Course requirements/expectations:
This course requires the use of vector based software. An initial familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, or Invision Studio is preferred.
Students will be expected to complete regular homework assignments and submit projects at the end of the course.
