The Logo Design program walks through a typical branding project. We will learn research techniques and how to develop an idea into a final concept. Students will work with a client to develop and deliver an identity system at the completion of the course.
Learning Objectives:
Learn how to communicate effectively with clients to determine their needs and translate problems into creative solutions
Develop techniques for research, collecting inspiration, and sketching
Understand how to organize, evolve, and refine ideas into final directions
Acquire skills to create and render designs digitally, and how to package projects for clients and in real world applications
Course requirements/expectations:
This course requires the use of vector based software and text-formatting applications. An initial familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is preferred. If students have not taken a Foundations Course before, they must demonstrate an understanding of basic visual design techniques and software, or take the Adobe Creative Suite tutorial course in conjunction with this class.
Students will be expected to complete regular homework assignments and submit projects at the end of the course.
